Dear Colleagues, Friends, EU citizens in the UK, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You may be aware that as a result of Brexit EU citizens and their family members<\/strong> must apply for a new immigration<\/strong> status under the UK Government\u2019s EU Settlement Scheme<\/a> if they intend to continue to live in the UK. Failing to do so will result in these citizens not having an immigration status in the UK beyond 30 June 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Vulnerable groups of citizens<\/strong> \u2013 such as the elderly, those with lower digital literacy and limited access to the online application process, children in care, those with lower levels of English, those who live in poverty and many more \u2013 may not be aware that they need to take action<\/strong> and could find it more challenging to submit an application for the new status. Furthermore, in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong> helping citizens through face-to-face contacts has become more difficult<\/strong> than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to get information to those who need this the most the EU Delegation has published a series of information leaflets<\/strong> which are available here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 What you need to know as an EU citizen living in the UK<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 What you need to know as a senior EU citizen living in the UK<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00b7 What you need to know as a non-EU citizen living in the UK if you have, or had, a family connection to an EU citizen<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n We understand that you may have had the capacity before Covid-19 to reach EU citizens in the UK. In case you still can, we\u2019d be grateful if you could share <\/strong>the above online publications <\/strong>through your channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, we\u2019re translating all our publications to EU languages<\/strong> and – as long as our stocks last – are also able to send print copies in bulk for free<\/strong> to a select number of organisations that may still be able to hand these out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you or your organisation \/ group would be interested receiving print copies could you please signal<\/strong> this by sending an e-mail to EU-CITIZENS-RIGHTS@eeas.europa.eu<\/a> by 23 October <\/strong>(next Friday), providing the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – Your name, your organisation\u2019s name, telephone number and delivery address<\/p>\n\n\n\n – The type of leaflet you are interested in (currently the above 3 are available)<\/p>\n\n\n\n – The EU languages in which you would like to receive these (by default we\u2019d send English copies)<\/p>\n\n\n\n – The number of copies that you\u2019d want to receive (there are usually 400 copies in a box and we can only send these by the box.
