the final of The Emmy Destinn Young Singers Competition 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n on Friday 26 November <\/strong>starting at 6.45 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n at Velehrad, 39 Lonsdale Road, Barnes, London SW13<\/strong> 7JP<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is a small admission charge of \u00a35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This biennial event, which always provides a feast of young singing talent performing a largely Czech or Slovak repertoire, is open to the public, and is well worth supporting. The first price awarded is sponsored by the Trustees of Velehrad London and one of the prizes to be awarded is the Dvo\u0159\u00e1k Society prize for performance of 20th or 21st century Czech or Slovak song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Further information can be found at https:\/\/www.destinn.com\/competition<\/a> and https:\/\/www.destinn.com\/entry<\/a> .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Velehrad<\/em><\/strong> is opposite St Paul’s School in Lonsdale Road. The nearest underground station is Hammersmith (District, Circle, Piccadilly, and Hammersmith & City lines). Hammersmith bridge is currently closed to vehicles but open to pedestrians and cyclists; a brisk walk from Hammersmith station via Hammersmith Bridge takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, take a train from Waterloo to Barnes and then bus 33 or 72 to Castelnau, the Lonsdale Road stop, or train from Waterloo to Barnes Bridge and then bus 533 or 209 to Lonsdale Road. If you come by car, there are parking spaces available in front of the Velehrad building.
