{"id":8753,"date":"2024-03-16T21:31:08","date_gmt":"2024-03-16T19:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.velehrad.org.uk\/?p=8753"},"modified":"2024-03-16T21:32:23","modified_gmt":"2024-03-16T19:32:23","slug":"cello-recital-at-velehrad-london-year-of-czech-music-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.velehrad.org.uk\/?p=8753","title":{"rendered":"CELLO RECITAL AT VELEHRAD LONDON &#038; YEAR OF CZECH MUSIC 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You are invited to the Cello Recital DUO BRIKCIUS [2 Cellists &#8211; 2 Siblings] &amp; Year of Czech Music 2024, that will take place on Thursday 21st March 2024 at 7 p.m, at Velehrad London (39 Lonsdale Road, London, SW13 9JP).<\/p>\n<p>The two cellists, brother and sister Anna Brikciusov\u00e1 and Franti\u0161ek Brikcius (Duo Brikcius), will introduce a programme for two cellos featuring Sonata for two cellos B-flat major, K. 292 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 &#8211; 1791), Composition for two cellos by Czech composer Bohuslav Martin\u016f (1890 &#8211; 1959) and 4 Cantatas for two cellos by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 &#8211; 1750). Then Fantasie IV. for Two Cellos (2008) and Bridges for Two Cellos (2009) by Czech composer and organist Irena Kos\u00edkov\u00e1, who lives in France. The music is dedicated to Swiss bridge builder Toni R\u00fcttimann. As a special encore Duo Brikcius will play the Presto by Czech composer Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek (1854 &#8211; 1928).<\/p>\n<p>This concert is commemorating the 339th anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach, the 170th anniversary of the birth of Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek, the 65th anniversary of the death of Bohuslav Martin\u016f and as part of the Year of Czech Music 2024 and International Day of Forests.<\/p>\n<p>The Czernin hall is provided by the Trustees of Velehrad London. Nearest underground Hammersmith and 15 minutes walk or train to Barnes or Barnes Bridge and bus 419, 533 (will stop in front of Velehrad).<\/p>\n<p>Admission \u00a315 (+ \u00a31.96 booking fee, includes a glass of wine) via Eventbrite.
